Montessori grasping beads

Montessori grasping aid is used for grasping and mouthing. At about 4 months when your baby is beginning to reach out and grasp at objects you can present this material. This is when the baby’s grasping reflex develops. They begin to move from involuntarily grasping things to voluntarily reaching for things to grasp and touch.

The perfect shape of this simple toy makes the grasping easy for the baby.

It is made out of 5 wooden beads and secured with a cotton rope, knotted at the ends and between each bead, to give stability.

It also helps in improving the baby’s hand-eye coordination, concentration, grasp, hand and wrist movement, and exploring skills.
