The Dressing Frame is a fundamental Montessori Practical Life material that assists children in developing independence and self-care skills as they learn to manage various clothing fasteners.
Age Group: 4-6 Years
The primary goal of the Dressing Frames is to teach children how to dress themselves by mastering different fastenings. This process also enhances their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as they interact with each material.
Children are initially introduced to the Large Buttoning Frame and Zipper Frame at the age of two. As their skills improve, they are gradually introduced to more complex fastenings.
Benefits of Integrating Dressing Frames:
👕 Enhances Self-Care Skills: Children learn to manage various fastenings, fostering independence in dressing.
🤲 Improves Fine Motor Skills: Manipulating buttons, zippers, and other fastenings enhances hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
🧠 Develops Problem-Solving Abilities: Figuring out how to use each fastening challenges the child's cognitive skills.
🕒 Encourages Patience and Perseverance: Mastering different fastenings requires focus and persistence.
The set includes one wooden frame with five interchangeable attachments. The attachments should be changed as the child masters each specific fastening. Each element can be machine washed on a delicate cycle, making it easy to care for the material.
Additional wooden frames can be purchased if needed.
👧 Promotes Confidence: Successfully using the frames builds the child's self-esteem and confidence in their abilities.
